THE FOREST’S GIFT
A Mother’s Prayer
Amara had always been known as one of the kindest women in her village. She was gentle, humble, and willing to help others whenever she could. But behind her quiet smile was a pain she had carried for ten long years.
Amara had been married to Tobenna for a decade, yet she had never had a child.
At first, Tobenna was patient. He comforted his wife and assured her that their time would come. But as the years passed, his patience disappeared. His love slowly turned into anger, and eventually, he abandoned Amara for another woman.
“I cannot destroy my life waiting for a barren woman,” he told her coldly.
Amara begged him not to leave, but Tobenna walked away.
Heartbroken and alone, Amara began gathering firewood from the forest to survive. The forest became the only place where she could cry without being judged by the villagers.
One afternoon, after hours of gathering wood, Amara sat on a fallen tree and finally broke down.
“Oh God,” she cried. “I have no one to call my own. I wish for a child. Even if I die alone, please let me know what it means to be a mother.”
She did not know that the forest had been listening.
The Mysterious Forest Spirit
A strange wind suddenly swept through the trees.
When Amara looked up, an old woman stood before her.
The woman wore long green clothing that resembled leaves. Her flowing green hair moved gently in the wind, and her eyes carried an unusual calmness.
“My name is Aliya,” the woman said. “I am the guardian spirit of this forest. I have heard your cries for many years.”
Amara could hardly believe what she was seeing.
Aliya was holding two babies.
One baby had soft, shining white curls. The other had beautiful golden curls. Their skin was smooth and bright, and their eyes seemed to glow.
Aliya gently placed the babies in Amara’s arms.
The moment Amara held them, tears of happiness filled her eyes.
“I asked for one child,” she whispered, “but you have given me two.”
Aliya smiled.
“Their names are Nina and Nunu. They are your answered prayers.”
But the gift came with a serious condition.
Aliya touched the girls’ unusual hair.
“You must never cut their hair. Not for any reason.”
Amara immediately promised to obey.
“Their life and human form live inside their hair,” Aliya explained. “If their hair is ever cut, the forest will take them back.”
Then Aliya gave Amara another warning.
“When they turn eighteen, something unexpected will happen. Be prepared.”
Before Amara could ask what would happen, Aliya disappeared into the forest like smoke.
Amara held the babies tightly.
Whatever the future brought, she was determined to protect them.
The Children With Extraordinary Gifts
Nina and Nunu grew much faster than ordinary children.
Their white and golden hair continued to shine, and Amara never allowed anyone to touch it. The villagers often wondered why she protected their hair so carefully, but she never revealed the truth.
As the girls grew older, strange abilities began to appear.
One morning, Amara became extremely sick. She had a terrible headache and could barely stand.
Nina climbed onto the bed and placed her hand on her mother’s forehead.
A warm light suddenly came from her palm.
Within moments, Amara felt completely better.
She realized that her daughter had the ability to heal.
Nunu also possessed a mysterious gift, but hers was different.
She could sense disasters before they happened.
One day, Nunu warned that a terrible storm was coming. Later that afternoon, dark clouds covered the village. Heavy rain and violent winds destroyed crops and brought down large trees.
The villagers were amazed.
From then on, people began asking Nina and Nunu questions about the future.
But Nina became the child everyone admired.
When a sick man in the village was close to death, Nina placed her hands on him and healed him. Word spread quickly, and people began bringing gifts to her.
Nina refused to accept payment.
“I do not need anything for my gift,” she would say.
Unfortunately, the attention Nina received created a painful feeling inside Nunu.
Jealousy began to grow.
Jealousy Turns Into Betrayal
Nunu felt that everyone loved her sister more than they loved her.
While Nina was praised for healing people and helping the village, Nunu became increasingly bitter.
Her gift also became darker. She could see disasters, but she sometimes refused to warn people.
Eventually, tragedy struck.
Nunu saw a vision of fire in the village market but said nothing. The following day, the market caught fire, and Loveth’s mother died.
The villagers blamed Nunu for keeping silent.
Even her closest friends began to resent the twins.
Mia, Loveth, and Rose eventually started wondering whether the girls’ unusual hair was responsible for their powers.
One day, they secretly discussed cutting it.
Nunu overheard them.
Instead of stopping them, she decided to join them.
“Her power comes from her hair,” Nunu said coldly. “And I will cut it.”
The Terrible Mistake
The night before the twins’ eighteenth birthday, Amara warned them once again.
“Stay indoors tomorrow. Do not follow anyone into the forest.”
The sisters promised.
But the next morning, Nunu convinced Nina to go into the forest with her.
When they reached a quiet path, Nunu suddenly stopped.
She pulled out a pair of scissors.
Nina immediately became afraid.
“Why are you holding scissors?”
Nunu explained that she was tired of watching everyone praise her sister.
“If you have no power, they will respect me too,” she said.
Nina begged her to stop.
“Mother will never forgive you. My hair is my life. If you cut it, something terrible will happen.”
But Nunu refused to listen.
She grabbed Nina’s hair and cut it.
The moment the white hair fell to the ground, it dissolved into mist.
A powerful wind exploded through the forest.
Nina collapsed.
She stopped breathing.
Mia, Loveth, and Rose, who had secretly followed the sisters, witnessed everything. Terrified, they ran back to the village to find Amara.
When Amara arrived, she found Nina lying motionless on the ground.
“What have you done?” she screamed at Nunu.
Nunu cried and admitted that she had only wanted to stop her sister from receiving all the praise.
Then the forest suddenly became silent.
Aliya appeared.
A Mother’s Greatest Sacrifice
The forest spirit looked at Nina and then at Amara.
“It has happened,” Aliya said. “There is only one way. One soul for another.”
Without hesitation, Amara stepped forward.
“I am ready.”
Nunu immediately began to cry.
“No! Take me instead. Everything that happened was my fault.”
But Amara refused.
She knew what she had to do.
“Promise me one thing,” she told Nunu. “Live as true sisters. Never allow hatred to separate you again.”
Nunu promised through her tears.
Aliya then placed her hand on Nina’s chest and breathed gently into her nostrils.
Suddenly, Nina gasped.
She was alive.
She immediately embraced her mother.
But Amara knew her own time had come.
“Forgive yourself,” she told Nunu.
Then she looked at Nina.
“Please forgive your sister.”
Moments later, Amara collapsed and died.
The forest fell completely silent.
Even the wind seemed to mourn her sacrifice.
The Curse Is Broken
Aliya revealed that because of Amara’s sacrifice, the sisters would lose their supernatural abilities.
They would no longer see the future or possess magical powers.
The sisters accepted the price.
Their white and golden hair immediately turned black.
Mia, Loveth, and Rose apologized for their part in the tragedy. Nina and Nunu forgave them.
From that day forward, the sisters lived differently.
Nunu finally understood that jealousy had nearly destroyed the person she loved most.
Nina learned that forgiveness could heal wounds that power never could.
And the villagers never forgot Amara, the woman whose love for her children was strong enough to make the ultimate sacrifice.
The Lesson of Amara’s Story
Amara’s story is a reminder that love is not measured by what we receive, but by what we are willing to give.
Nunu’s jealousy began with something small: the desire to receive the same attention as her sister. But that jealousy grew until it almost cost Nina her life.
The story also reminds us that forgiveness can break a cycle of hatred.
In the end, the sisters lost their supernatural gifts, but they gained something more valuable: peace, forgiveness, and the chance to live together without jealousy.
Amara’s greatest gift was not the children given to her by the forest.
It was the love she gave them.
And even after her death, that love continued to change their lives.

THE PRINCE’S NECKLACE
The Little Girl With the Prince’s Necklace
Prince Uzonna had never imagined that a simple journey through a small village would uncover a secret that had been hidden from him for years.
He was the youngest prince in the kingdom, a respected member of the royal family, and a man who seemed to have everything. But on one ordinary afternoon, he met a little girl selling roasted yams by the roadside—and the necklace around her neck immediately caught his attention.
It was a necklace he could never forget.
“Where did you get that necklace?”
Prince Uzonna was traveling through the village with his attendants when his carriage slowed near a busy market.
The village was alive with activity. Traders called out to customers, children ran between the stalls, and the smell of roasted food filled the air.
Then Uzonna noticed a little girl standing beside a tray of roasted yams.
She was about eight years old. She was barefoot and wore a faded dress, but despite her difficult circumstances, she stood proudly and called out to customers.
The prince looked at her for a moment.
Then he noticed something around her neck.
A unique imperial stone pendant.
Uzonna’s heart nearly stopped.
He knew that necklace.
Years earlier, he had given the exact same necklace to a young woman after a village festival. It was a custom-made piece, and as far as he knew, only one existed.
Uzonna stepped out of his carriage and approached the girl.
“Little girl, where did you get this necklace?” he asked.
The girl looked down at the pendant.
“My mama gave it to me,” she replied.
The prince stared at her.
“What is your name?”
“Adaeze.”
“And where is your father?”
The little girl looked at him innocently.
“I’ve never met him.”
Those words left Uzonna strangely unsettled.
He looked at her small tray of yams.
“Are these yours?”
“Yes, sir. Mama is sick, so I sell them until she gets better.”
Something about the girl touched him.
Without thinking twice, Uzonna reached into his pouch and brought out all the coins he had with him.
“I’ll buy everything.”
Adaeze’s eyes widened.
“All of them?”
“Yes. Every yam.”
The little girl smiled as she accepted the money.
Then Uzonna made another offer.
“Come. I’ll take you home.”
But Adaeze immediately shook her head.
“No, thank you. Mama said I should never go anywhere with strangers.”
Uzonna smiled nervously.
“I am not a stranger. I only want to help you.”
Adaeze looked at him carefully.
“Then why have I never seen you before?”
Before Uzonna could answer, the little girl picked up her tray and disappeared into the busy market.
The prince stood there watching her vanish among the crowd.
He had no idea that the little girl he had just met was connected to him in a way that would change his entire life.
A necklace that held a secret
Uzonna returned to the palace that evening, but he could not stop thinking about Adaeze.
Her face.
Her voice.
The necklace.
Most of all, her words about never having met her father.
Something did not feel right.
The next morning, he returned to the village.
This time, he brought fruits, new shoes, and clothes for the little girl.
He found Adaeze in the same place, selling roasted yams.
When she saw him, she looked suspicious.
“You came back.”
Uzonna smiled.
“I told you I’m not a bad man. I want to be your friend.”
He placed the bag in front of her.
Adaeze opened it and stared in amazement.
“All these are for me?”
Uzonna nodded.
“If you accept them.”
The little girl smiled.
“Thank you, sir.”
Then Uzonna asked the question that would lead him directly to the truth.
“Will you take me to your mother?”
Adaeze hesitated.
She remembered her mother’s warnings about strangers. But this man had bought all her yams and returned with gifts for her.
Finally, she agreed.
“Okay. I’ll take you.”
The woman behind the secret
Adaeze led Uzonna through narrow village paths until they reached a small, broken hut at the edge of the village.
The walls were cracked, and parts of the roof had been covered with old pieces of cloth and rusty sheets of metal.
Adaeze knocked.
“Mama.”
The door opened slowly.
A weak woman stood inside.
Her name was Oge.
She looked sick and exhausted, but the moment her eyes met Uzonna’s, everything changed.
She froze.
Uzonna stared at her.
There was something familiar about her face.
But he couldn’t remember where he had seen her before.
Then Oge spoke.
“You don’t remember me, do you?”
Uzonna frowned.
“I’m sorry. Have we met before?”
A bitter smile appeared on Oge’s face.
“You really don’t remember?”
Years earlier, at a village festival, a young Uzonna had met Oge.
They had danced together, talked through the night, and eventually spent the night together.
Before leaving the following morning, Uzonna had given Oge the special imperial stone necklace.
Then he disappeared.
Oge had been left to raise their daughter alone.
But Uzonna remembered none of it.
A father who didn’t know he was a father
Inside the small hut, Uzonna kept looking at Adaeze.
The little girl was innocent and cheerful, completely unaware of the secret surrounding her birth.
Uzonna asked Oge about the necklace.
Oge tried to hide the truth.
“I found it outside the market,” she said.
But Uzonna knew she wasn’t telling the truth.
“That necklace was custom-made,” he replied. “Only one exists. I gave it to someone years ago.”
Oge looked away.
Before Uzonna could ask another question, a harsh cough shook her body.
Adaeze immediately rushed to her mother.
“Mama, please rest.”
Uzonna felt sympathy for them.
He reached into his pouch and offered Oge money for medicine and food.
But she pushed it away.
“I don’t need your charity.”
Uzonna tried to explain that he wasn’t trying to insult her.
But Oge’s pain was deeper than money could fix.
“You don’t get to walk back into our lives and fix everything with coins,” she told him.
Uzonna said nothing.
But he knew there was something she wasn’t telling him.
The bond between a prince and a little girl
Days passed.
Uzonna kept returning to the village.
Every afternoon, he brought fruits, food, or something small for Adaeze.
At first, she was shy around him.
Soon, however, the little girl began to trust him.
They laughed together.
She told him stories about the village.
Sometimes they simply sat outside the hut and watched people passing by.
For the first time in his life, Uzonna experienced a kind of peace that he had never felt inside the royal palace.
Without realizing it, he was becoming attached to Adaeze.
But his royal responsibilities were beginning to suffer.
His aide warned him that he had missed several royal council meetings.
The ministers were becoming concerned.
Uzonna knew he could not continue ignoring his responsibilities forever.
There was another problem.
He was already expected to marry Oma, an elegant woman chosen to become his royal bride.
Wedding preparations were underway.
Yet whenever Uzonna thought about his future, his mind returned to the little girl in the village.
Then everything changed.
The truth finally comes out
One rainy afternoon, Uzonna returned to Oge’s hut carrying food and medicine.
Before entering, he heard Oge speaking.
She was talking about him.
“I don’t think Uzonna remembers anything,” she said.
“But he keeps coming. He talks to her like she’s already his.”
Uzonna froze.
Then Oge said the words that changed everything.
“He doesn’t even know she’s his daughter.”
Uzonna’s heart stopped.
His daughter?
Suddenly, everything made sense.
The necklace.
The resemblance.
The strange connection he had felt from the moment he saw Adaeze.
He pushed open the door.
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
Oge turned toward him, tears filling her eyes.
“Because you left me once without a word,” she replied. “I was afraid you would disappear again. I didn’t want your pity.”
Uzonna looked at Adaeze.
For the first time, he understood why he had felt such a powerful connection to the child.
She was his daughter.
The daughter he never knew he had.
A new beginning
Uzonna’s life was about to change completely.
He could no longer pretend that the village girl was simply a child he had decided to help.
She was his daughter.
And the woman standing before him was the woman he had left behind years earlier.
“I didn’t know,” Uzonna said.
“But now I do.”
He looked at Adaeze.
“I love her. I want to raise her. I want to be in her life every day.”
Then he turned to Oge.
His voice became softer.
“And I want you too.”
Uzonna dropped to one knee.
“Please… marry me.”
Oge stared at him through her tears.
After years of raising their daughter alone, the man she thought had forgotten her had finally returned—not knowing that he was returning to the family he never knew he had.
But before their story could truly have a happy ending, many questions remained.
Would Oge forgive Uzonna completely?
What would happen to his planned marriage to Oma?
And how would the royal family react when they discovered that the prince already had a daughter?

THE SNAKE GIRL
Olamma and the Serpent Realm: A Secret of Revenge and Forbidden Destiny
Deep within the hills and forests surrounding the village of Oji, an ancient conflict was waiting to return.
For years, the people of Oji had lived with an unusual fear of snakes. They believed the creatures were dangerous, but nobody could explain why snakes seemed to appear around certain families more often than others.
Then Olama arrived.
She looked like an ordinary young woman, but beneath her human appearance was a secret that could destroy an entire family. Olama was born into the serpent realm, and her mother, the Serpent Queen, had given her a deadly mission: find Ikenna and kill him and his family.
But there was one thing standing between Olama and her mission—the silver and jade necklace worn by Ikenna.
The necklace was not an ordinary piece of jewelry. It carried a powerful protection that prevented snakes from harming him and his family.
Olama tried repeatedly to get close to Ikenna, hoping to find a weakness in the protection. Instead, she found herself becoming emotionally attached to the very man she had been sent to destroy.
Her mission became more complicated when Ikenna’s sister, Ugochi, discovered her secret.
The Secret Beneath Olama’s Human Form
Olama first met Ikenna in the forest while he was hunting.
She appeared harmless, and Ikenna had no idea that the beautiful young woman standing before him was actually a serpent in disguise.
Olama deliberately stayed close to him.
Whenever Ikenna became tired from hunting, she would keep him company beneath the trees. She listened to his stories and slowly became familiar with his family.
But she had another reason for staying close.
She was looking for an opportunity to strike.
Unfortunately for Olama, every attempt failed.
Whenever she came into contact with Ikenna’s protective necklace, a powerful shock passed through her body. The silver and jade charm created a barrier between them.
Olama soon realized that attacking Ikenna directly would not be easy.
Instead, she decided to become part of his life.
She even became close to his sister, Ugochi.
At first, Ugochi welcomed Olama without suspicion. But after spending more time with her, she began noticing strange things.
Olama behaved differently from the other women in the village.
There was something unusual about her eyes, her movements, and the way she reacted to certain things.
Ugochi’s curiosity eventually became suspicion.
Ugochi Discovers the Truth
One evening, Ugochi secretly followed Olama into the forest.
Olama stopped beneath an old mango tree.
There, away from the eyes of the villagers, her human disguise disappeared.
Her body transformed into a large black snake.
Ugochi saw everything.
Terrified, she screamed and ran.
Olama immediately realized that her secret had been exposed.
She chased Ugochi through the forest until she caught her.
The encounter ended tragically.
Ugochi was bitten, and she died.
When Ikenna discovered what had happened to his sister, grief turned into anger.
He vowed to kill every snake he encountered.
But Ikenna did not yet understand that the snakes were not simply attacking his family without reason.
There was an old story buried beneath the hatred.
And that story was connected to his father.
A Dangerous Plan at the River
After Ugochi’s death, Olama knew she had to find another way to destroy Ikenna’s family.
Her attention turned toward Obinna, Ikenna’s brother.
One day, Obinna was sitting beside the river, carefully repairing the string on his arrow.
Olama watched from a distance.
Then someone approached.
It looked like Ikenna.
The man asked Obinna what he was doing and then told him to remove his protective necklace.
Obinna immediately became suspicious.
They had been warned never to remove the necklace, regardless of the circumstances.
But the man insisted that he only wanted to check something.
Obinna eventually trusted him and reached for the necklace.
But something strange happened.
The necklace would not come off.
The cord seemed to tighten around his neck.
Confused and frightened, Obinna asked for help.
Before the situation could become worse, another Ikenna appeared.
“I have been looking for you,” he said.
Obinna stared at the two men.
There were two Ikennas standing before him.
Then the truth became clear.
The first Ikenna was not Ikenna at all.
It was Olama.
Her disguise began to disappear, revealing the serpent hidden beneath it.
For the first time, Ikenna knew the truth.
Olama had been the snake all along.
Olama Reveals Her Mission
Ikenna stood firmly between Olama and his brother.
“So, you were the snake all along,” he said angrily.
Olama did not deny it.
“Yes,” she admitted. “I was sent on a mission to kill you and your family. And I will complete it before I leave.”
Ikenna tightened his grip on his spear.
“You can do nothing to us,” he warned her. “If you try to hurt my family again, I will kill you first.”
But before the confrontation could continue, something much larger emerged from the forest.
The Serpent Queen had arrived.
Her massive emerald body moved through the trees, and the entire atmosphere around the river seemed to change.
She had not come to negotiate.
She had come for revenge.
The Truth About Ikenna’s Father
The Serpent Queen looked at Olama.
“It is time to kill them,” she commanded. “This is our only chance to avenge my sister—your aunt.”
The word avenge immediately caught Ikenna’s attention.
“Avenge?” he asked. “Avenge what?”
Olama looked toward him.
Then she revealed the secret that had been hidden for years.
According to Olama, Ikenna’s father had once encountered her aunt in the forest.
She had gone into the forest searching for herbs to save her sick son.
But she never returned.
Olama claimed that Ikenna’s father killed her before she could reach home.
Her son eventually died.
But according to the story, the tragedy did not end there.
The Serpent Queen accused Ikenna’s father of taking the woman’s skin and using it as an ornament.
Ikenna and Obinna were stunned.
They had never heard this part of their family’s history.
Suddenly, the strange behavior of the snakes around them seemed to have an explanation.
Their family may have been living with the consequences of something their father had done years earlier.
But the Serpent Queen had no interest in continuing the conversation.
“Enough explanation,” she said.
Then she attacked.
The Battle at the River
Olama transformed into her serpent form and joined her mother.
The peaceful riverbank immediately became a battlefield.
The Serpent Queen lunged toward the brothers while Olama attacked from another direction.
Ikenna raised his spear, trying to protect Obinna.
The silver and jade necklaces began glowing brightly.
Whenever the serpents came too close, the protective power of the necklaces pushed them back.
The brothers fought together, refusing to separate.
Olama attacked repeatedly, but the necklace continued to protect them.
Even the Serpent Queen struggled to break through the barrier.
For a moment, it appeared that the brothers might survive the encounter.
The Queen finally realized that they could not defeat the brothers in that battle.
With a furious hiss, she withdrew.
Olama followed her.
The two serpents disappeared into the mist of the forest, leaving Ikenna and Obinna standing beside the river.
The battle was over.
But the conflict was not.
A Different Kind of Battle
After the serpents disappeared, the brothers sat beside the river without speaking.
For the first time, they understood that the snakes had been following their family for a reason.
This was not simply an attack by wild creatures.
There was history behind it.
There was grief.
There was anger.
And there was an old accusation against their father.
Ikenna and Obinna were now faced with a difficult question.
Should they continue fighting the serpent realm?
Or should they find a way to end the cycle of revenge?
They eventually decided that fighting would only create more deaths.
Instead, they would seek the guidance of the village elders and find a way to appease the serpent realm.
Perhaps the only way to end an ancient conflict was to confront the truth that created it.
But somewhere deep inside the forest, Olama was still watching.
The Serpent Queen had not forgiven the family.
And Olama’s mission was not truly over.
The question remained:
Would the family choose revenge, or would they find a way to make peace with the serpent realm?

Final Thoughts
Olama’s story is more than a battle between humans and serpents.
It raises a deeper question about inherited conflict.
Ikenna and Obinna did not cause the events that happened years before they were born, yet they were forced to face the consequences. Olama, meanwhile, was raised to believe that revenge was her destiny.
Each character is carrying a piece of an old tragedy.
And perhaps that is what makes the story of Oji so dangerous.
When the truth is hidden for too long, revenge can pass from one generation to another.
Sometimes, ending the conflict requires more courage than starting a war.
The story of Olama and the serpent realm is only beginning.
WICKED WIFE HUMILIATED HUSBAND
Nathan’s Wife Betrayed Her Husband After His Accident
Nathan Okorie had always believed that love was measured by sacrifice.
He was a hardworking businessman who had spent years building his logistics company from the ground up. When he married Rose, he wanted to give her a beautiful life. He worked hard, saved money, and eventually built a comfortable home for the two of them.
For three years, Nathan believed he had everything a man could ask for—a successful business, a beautiful home, and a wife he loved deeply.
But one rainy evening changed his life forever.
The Accident That Changed Everything
Nathan was returning from an important business meeting when disaster struck.
The road was wet from heavy rain, and visibility was poor. Suddenly, a speeding truck lost control and crashed violently into Nathan’s car.
The impact was devastating.
When Nathan eventually opened his eyes, he was lying in a hospital bed surrounded by medical equipment. His body was weak, and he could barely understand what had happened.
Rose was sitting beside him, crying.
“Nathan, you’re alive. Thank God,” she whispered.
Nathan tried to move his legs.
Nothing happened.
After several examinations, the doctors explained that the accident had severely damaged his spine. Although surgery had saved his life, the damage to his legs was serious.
There was a possibility that he might never walk again.
For Nathan, those words felt like the end of his life.
But Rose held his hand and promised him that she would never leave him.
“I didn’t marry you because you can walk,” she told him. “I married you because I love you. We’ll face this together.”
Nathan believed every word.
For a while, Rose seemed determined to keep her promise.
She helped him with his daily needs, accompanied him to physiotherapy, and encouraged him whenever he became discouraged.
But as the months passed, something began to change.
When Love Turned Into Resentment
The medical bills continued to grow.
Nathan’s business also began suffering because he could no longer manage it the way he once had. Contracts were lost, employees left, and their savings slowly disappeared.
Rose became frustrated.
At first, it was only a sigh here and there.
Then came the complaints.
Eventually, her words became cruel.
One afternoon, while helping Nathan with his wheelchair, Rose muttered that she never imagined she would have to push her husband around like luggage.
Nathan pretended not to hear.
But he heard everything.
He began apologizing for things he had no control over.
“I’m sorry.”
Those two words became part of his daily life.
He was sorry that he needed assistance. Sorry that his wife had to help him. Sorry that his life had changed.
Then one afternoon, Rose brought a basket of clothes and dropped it beside his wheelchair.
“Wash these,” she ordered.
Nathan stared at the basket.
He knew washing clothes was not beneath him. What hurt was that Rose knew how difficult it was for him to bend, carry water, and move around safely.
“Rose, you know this is difficult for me,” he said quietly.
Instead of understanding, she became angry.
“You just want me to continue being your nurse and your maid!”
Nathan looked down.
“I didn’t ask for this accident.”
Rose’s response destroyed something inside him.
“And I didn’t ask for a crippled husband!”
The room became silent.
Nathan had survived a terrible accident, but those words caused a different kind of pain.
That day, he realized that the woman he once trusted was no longer treating him with love.
Gift Arrives
Eventually, Rose insisted that they needed help around the house.
That was how Gift entered their lives.
Gift was a young woman from a small village who desperately needed work. She was quiet, respectful, and observant.
Unlike Rose, Gift never treated Nathan as though his disability had taken away his humanity.
She helped him bathe with dignity.
She assisted him during meals.
She supported him during physiotherapy.
She listened whenever he wanted to talk.
One afternoon, Nathan thanked her.
“Thank you.”
Gift smiled.
“For what, sir?”
“For treating me like I’m still human.”
Gift looked at him sincerely.
“You are human, sir. And a good one.”
Those simple words meant more to Nathan than she could have known.
But Rose noticed the growing trust between them.
Whenever Gift encouraged Nathan during therapy, Rose became irritated.
When Nathan began showing determination again, Rose mocked him.
“Improving at what?” she once asked coldly. “Falling slower?”
Gift was shocked.
Nathan simply lowered his eyes.
He was slowly withdrawing into silence.
A Terrible Secret
Months passed.
Rose became increasingly distant. She bought expensive clothes, stayed out late, and became protective of her phone.
Nathan noticed everything but remained quiet.
Then one evening, Rose called Gift into her bedroom.
She closed the door.
“I have something important for you,” she said.
Rose handed Gift a small bottle containing a clear liquid.
“Add a little of this to Nathan’s drink every night.”
Gift stared at the bottle.
“What is it, ma?”
“Medicine.”
But Rose’s expression made Gift uncomfortable.
“And he must not know,” Rose added.
Gift hesitated.
Rose’s voice became threatening.
“Do you want this job?”
Gift took the bottle, but fear followed her out of the room.
That night, she sat on the edge of her bed staring at it.
Something was wrong.
Why would medicine have to be given secretly?
Why had Rose threatened her?
The next morning, Gift quietly sought help from a pharmacist she trusted.
The pharmacist examined the liquid and immediately became serious.
“Where did you get this?”
Gift became frightened.
“What is it?”
The pharmacist explained that the substance was toxic and could cause serious harm if repeatedly consumed.
Gift’s heart began pounding.
She finally understood.
Rose wasn’t trying to treat Nathan.
She was trying to kill him.
Gift Makes a Difficult Choice
Gift returned home terrified.
Nathan immediately noticed that something was wrong.
“Gift, are you alright?”
She closed the door and placed the bottle on the table.
“Sir, I need to tell you something.”
She explained everything.
Nathan stared at the bottle in disbelief.
For months, he had suspected that Rose no longer loved him.
But he had never imagined that she wanted him dead.
“Thank you,” Nathan whispered.
Gift began crying.
“I could never do that to you.”
Nathan held her hand.
Then he made a decision.
“Don’t let her know that we know.”
Nathan contacted an old lawyer friend in secret. The matter was reported, and authorities advised them to gather evidence.
From that moment, Nathan pretended everything was normal.
Rose believed her plan was working.
But she had no idea that the people around her were quietly collecting evidence.
The Truth Comes Out
One evening, Rose handed Gift a glass of juice.
“Don’t forget,” she reminded her.
Gift nodded.
But instead of adding anything to the drink, she secretly disposed of it and brought Nathan fresh juice.
Days passed.
Then, one night, the police arrived at the house.
Rose was shocked.
“Mrs. Rose Okorie?” an officer asked.
“Yes.”
“You are under arrest for attempted murder.”
Rose’s face changed immediately.
“What nonsense is this?”
Nathan rolled his wheelchair into the room.
“You tried to poison me.”
Rose stared at him.
“You can’t prove that!”
But the evidence had already been gathered.
Gift bravely told the authorities what Rose had instructed her to do, while the investigation uncovered additional evidence supporting the poisoning attempt.
Rose could no longer escape the truth.
The Betrayal Behind the Plan
During questioning, the full story eventually came to light.
Rose had become involved with another man.
She no longer wanted Nathan in her life, but divorce would involve complicated financial and legal consequences.
Instead, she had planned to slowly poison her husband.
Nathan was devastated when he learned the truth.
The woman he had sacrificed everything for had been willing to take his life.
But there was also a strange sense of freedom.
The illusion was finally gone.
Nathan no longer had to wonder whether Rose still loved him.
He knew the truth.
A New Beginning
Rose’s actions brought serious consequences.
Her relationship with the other man collapsed, and she faced the legal consequences of the crime.
Nathan, meanwhile, began rebuilding his life.
Former friends and business associates returned to support him. His company gradually recovered, and he continued his rehabilitation.
Then something unexpected happened.
Nathan began regaining movement in his legs.
His doctors were surprised by his progress.
The recovery was slow and difficult, but Nathan refused to give up.
Gift remained a source of support throughout his journey.
Nathan eventually helped her pursue her education, and after completing her studies, she became an important part of his organization.
She was no longer simply the maid who worked in his home.
She had become someone Nathan trusted deeply.
Nathan Walks Again
Two years after the accident, Nathan stood with the help of braces.
His legs trembled.
His body was not yet strong enough for him to walk normally, but he was standing.
Then, during a small rehabilitation ceremony, Nathan took a few independent steps.
Tears rolled down his cheeks.
Everyone around him applauded.
For Nathan, those steps represented far more than physical recovery.
They represented survival.
He had lost his health, his business stability, and the woman he thought would stand beside him forever.
But he had not lost himself.
Nathan later established a foundation to support people living with spinal injuries and help them access rehabilitation and encouragement.
When people asked how he survived such a painful betrayal, he gave a simple answer:
“When everything is taken from you, character remains.”
Nathan’s story became a reminder that life can change suddenly, but hardship does not have to be the end of someone’s story.
Sometimes, the person who tries to break you becomes part of the reason you discover how strong you really are.

Pastor Samuel and the Witches’ Village
Pastor Samuel was a devoted preacher who believed that every village deserved to hear the word of God. He had visited many communities before, but one particular village was unlike anything he had ever encountered.
When he was invited to preach there, Pastor Samuel expected to find ordinary villagers who were simply looking for hope and guidance. Instead, he slowly discovered that the village was hiding a dark secret.
The people were afraid to speak openly about what was happening around them. Strange events had become normal, and there were things in the village that nobody dared to question.
Pastor Samuel soon realized that his visit would not be an ordinary preaching mission.
The Journey to the Village
Pastor Samuel set out for the village with the intention of sharing a message of faith and hope.
As he approached the community, however, something about the place felt different. The atmosphere was unusually quiet, and the villagers seemed reluctant to welcome him.
Some people avoided eye contact. Others watched him from a distance without saying a word.
Pastor Samuel noticed the fear on their faces and began to wonder why everyone seemed so uncomfortable.
He eventually learned that the village had a frightening reputation. People whispered about strange occurrences and warned outsiders not to interfere with certain things.
But Pastor Samuel refused to turn back.
He believed that fear should not prevent him from doing what he had come to do.
What Pastor Samuel Discovered
As Pastor Samuel spent more time in the village, the strange behavior of the people became harder to ignore.
There appeared to be secrets that the villagers were desperately trying to hide.
The more questions Pastor Samuel asked, the more uncomfortable the villagers became.
Eventually, he discovered that the village was connected to a terrifying secret involving people who practiced dark spiritual activities.
What shocked him most was not simply the existence of the secret, but the fear that had taken control of the entire community.
People had become so frightened that they were afraid to speak, challenge what was happening, or seek help.
Pastor Samuel realized that he had walked into a place where fear had ruled for far too long.
The Confrontation
Instead of running away, Pastor Samuel decided to stand his ground.
He continued to speak about faith, courage, and the power of God.
But his presence began to attract attention.
Those who wanted the village’s secrets to remain hidden did not want Pastor Samuel interfering with their way of life.
The situation became increasingly dangerous, and Pastor Samuel found himself facing a challenge far greater than he had expected.
He had to decide whether to leave the village and protect himself or remain and confront the darkness that had frightened the people for so long.
Pastor Samuel chose not to surrender to fear.
His courage gave some of the villagers hope, and they began to realize that remaining silent would only allow the problem to continue.
How the Story Ended
The events that followed changed Pastor Samuel’s understanding of the village forever.
What began as an ordinary journey to preach became an encounter with fear, secrecy, and spiritual conflict.
Pastor Samuel learned that sometimes the greatest battle is not simply against what can be seen, but against the fear that prevents people from standing up for what they believe is right.
His experience also taught the villagers an important lesson: fear can become powerful when everyone chooses silence, but courage can begin to change a community.
The journey was difficult, but Pastor Samuel refused to allow fear to determine the outcome.
Moral Lesson
The story of Pastor Samuel and the Witches’ Village teaches us that courage and faith can help people face difficult situations.
Fear can make people remain silent even when they know something is wrong. But when people find the courage to speak, seek help, and stand for what they believe is right, they can begin to overcome that fear.
The story also reminds us not to judge a community simply by what we see on the surface. Sometimes, people may be carrying hidden struggles that outsiders know nothing about.
Most importantly, Pastor Samuel’s experience reminds us that courage does not mean having no fear. It means refusing to let fear control your actions.
